Zencity Named to GovTech’s 100 for 2025: Empowering Governments to Build Trust Through Innovation

We are proud to kick off 2025 with the news that Zencity has been named to GovTech’s 100 list for the fourth year in a row! This recognition reflects the dedication of our team and the incredible work of our partner communities, who trust Zencity to provide the insights they need to serve their residents more effectively.

2024: A Year of Growth, Impact, and Innovation

Over the past year, Zencity expanded its network to include dozens of new communities and agencies while continuing to strengthen our relationships with hundreds of long-term partners. Together, we tackled some of the most pressing issues facing communities today—housing, public safety, transportation, and trust-building between residents and government agencies.

From tackling homelessness in Los Angeles, CA, to supporting Houston, TX, in the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl, to helping Washoe County, NV, implement more accessible community engagement, our impact spanned the nation. Internationally, we partnered with the British Transport Police to advance their National Race Action Plan, helping to shape a more inclusive approach to public safety.

But what truly set 2024 apart was the introduction of our AI Assistant, a game-changing innovation designed specifically for local governments.

Zencity’s AI Assistant: The Next Generation of Government Decision-Making

One of our proudest achievements of 2024 was the launch of Zencity’s AI Assistant—a virtual data analyst built to empower government teams to work smarter, not harder.

With local government-specific AI models, the AI Assistant provides real-time insights by analyzing resident feedback, categorizing sentiment, and summarizing key trends. From monitoring public safety discussions to drafting engagement reports, the AI Assistant is already helping local leaders turn data into action faster than ever before.

Here’s how the AI Assistant is already making an impact:

Automated Sentiment Analysis
Understanding how residents feel about key issues with instant feedback categorization from social media, surveys, and 311 systems.

Instant Trend Detection
Identifying emerging conversation spikes on topics like public safety, transportation, or housing to respond proactively.

Smart Summaries
Saving time with automatic summaries of key issues for reports, briefings, and resident updates.

Customized Actionable Insights
Tailoring recommendations based on local government-specific data models to turn insights into action.

Real-Time Data Categorization
Categorizing resident feedback by topics like traffic, public events, or housing, making it easier to understand community priorities.

The AI Assistant isn’t just a new tool—it’s a trusted partner for government teams navigating complex challenges with limited time and resources.

2024: By the Numbers

Our work in 2024 reinforced what we’ve always believed: Trust between communities and their governments is built through understanding, transparency, and timely action.

This year we collected over 811,000,000 inputs from residents across U.S. communities through our various engagement and listening capabilities. By looking at all of them together, Zencity uncovered key trends shaping residents’ priorities and concerns:

  • 28% of resident feedback focused on public safety—emphasizing the ongoing need to strengthen trust between law enforcement and communities.
  • 17% of conversations centered around political affairs—reflecting heightened engagement driven by the 2024 election cycle and increasing demands for government transparency.
  • Transportation discussions surged, particularly around on-demand microtransit and sustainable mobility solutions, signaling shifting priorities toward more accessible, greener communities.

These insights power our AI Assistant, helping government leaders identify pressing issues faster and respond with empathy, transparency, and action.

Looking Ahead: Our Vision for 2025

As we look to the future, our mission remains clear: to become a clear source of truth for community needs, priorities, and opinions so that local governments can take action and build trust.

In 2025, we’ll continue rolling out our very exciting AI capabilities and expanding the tools we offer to support more inclusive, timely, and actionable engagement. From improving public safety strategies to tackling housing challenges, we are excited to work alongside our partners to address communities’ evolving needs.

We’re deeply grateful to our team, clients, and partners for making this recognition possible. Your trust fuels our mission every day.

Here’s to a transformative 2025 filled with new opportunities to make government more responsive, effective, and—most importantly—trusted.
