About The Position

Overview

Zencity is looking for a self-starting and enthusiastic team member to lead a critical business function in a newly-adapted role. You’ll be part of a small but growing, mission-driven team at an early-stage technology startup during a particularly exciting time in the company’s history. Using your digital advertising skills, you will have responsibility over a core aspect of the business, and will enjoy significant freedom and autonomy to experiment with improving and innovating in this critical function.


This role will develop and execute an in-house digital advertising function, with an eye toward making our digital audience recruitment more responsive, more nimble, and more efficient. This person will manage a significant budget and work internally and with outside vendors to engage residents of cities, counties and police departments across the globe. You will work closely and collaboratively with the company’s leadership, as well as product, engineering and data science leaders. The role is operational with significant hands-on elements (setting up, deploying, analyzing and optimizing campaign performance) while growing the strategic function of the survey operations team over time. 

What You'll Do: 

  • Lead digital advertising operations, set up and manage digital campaigns to meet clear daily, weekly, and monthly campaign performance objectives.
  • Act as subject matter expert for all things digital campaign management and campaign execution including understanding the advertising objectives & KPI, Ad technology features and limitations, best practices that wrap around existing technologies and gaps, creative QA, and delivery troubleshooting. 
  • Ensure flawless campaign execution and delivery which includes deploying relevant creative content and survey links while troubleshooting any issues and monitoring campaign delivery and performance.  
  • Provide guidance to relevant advertising subcontractors on campaign setup, delivery and performance optimizations. 
  • Lead optimizations and efficiency of campaigns including: Creating systems to test ad performance at scale; Designing, deploying and documenting A/B tests and other experiments to increase performance of digital ads.
  • Assist with interpreting various sets of performance data and metrics to help the Head of Survey Research tell a story about how the campaign performed and help recommend best practices for future campaigns

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience managing digital advertising campaigns
  • Proficiency with leading programmatic digital ad buying, especially Facebook and other cost-effective advertising distribution channels
  • Quick learner of new technologies, tools and processes; ability to adapt to changing priorities 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of creative best practices across digital media platforms
  • Experience interpreting paid media analytics to help inform creative decision making and ad budgeting
  • Experience executing a variety of digital media tests preferred, including A/B tests
  • Detail-oriented and diligent– focused on key performance of each digital campaign while monitoring overall performance of a system of campaigns 
  • Self-starter, with demonstrated ability to work and solve problems independently
